Top Safety Accreditation for Cynergi Cleaning and Support Services

Local business Cynergi Cleaning and Support Services has been awarded accreditation from Alcumus SafeContractor for achieving excellence in health and safety in the workplace.

Alcumus SafeContractor is a leading third party accreditation scheme which recognises extremely rigorous standards in health and safety management amongst contractors. It is used by thousands of organisations in the UK including SMEs and FTSE 100 companies.

Employing 250 people, Cynergi is principally involved in the Daily Cleaning and soft service provision sector, with a £4 million turnover. Cynergi’s most recent clients have included major players such as Smuffit Kappa, Booker Foods, & Warner Music.

The company’s application for SafeContractor accreditation was driven by the need for a uniform standard across the business. SafeContractor accreditation will enhance the company’s ability to win new contracts, and its commitment to safety will be viewed positively by its insurers when the company liability policy is up for renewal.
Gemma Archibald, Director of Alcumus SafeContractor said: “Major organisations simply cannot afford to run the risk of employing contractors who are not able to prove that they have sound health and safety policies in place.”
“More companies need to understand the importance of adopting good risk management in the way that Cynergi has done. The firm’s high standard has set an example which hopefully will be followed by other companies within the sector. SafeContractor plays a vital role in supporting our clients in meeting their compliance needs, whilst working with their contractors as they progress through the accreditation process.”

“All of us at Cynergi are delighted to have been awarded SafeContractor accreditation, as we understand the huge importance in ensuring our staff, and clients alike, are protected at their workplace, and this reinforces the commitment of our directors to strive for excellence in every area of our business”.

Cynergi take on 3 new clients

We are absolutely delighted to announce that Smurfit Kappa, one of the leading providers of paper-based packaging solutions in the world, with around 45,000 employees worldwide, have appointed Cynergi Cleaning and Support Services, to look after the cleaning need at their plant in Birmingham.

This brings the total of Smurfit Kappa sites that Cynergi provide comprehensive cleaning to, to three. The others being in Snodland in Kent and Chelmsford in Essex.
The contract in Birmingham was awarded on the basis of the high standards that we have achieved at the two existing sites and the excellent working relationship that we have with our clients in the south of England.

Cynergi are also delighted to announce that they have been awarded the contract for the daily cleaning at two TechHub sites in the City

TechHub is a company that provides space for tech start-ups, from their 8 story building in the city and the Bonhill Street office. Many of its former customers have gone on to grow their businesses substantially and it’s a buzzy environment that needs a real eye to attention to detail.

Countryside Properties, one of the UK’s largest house builders have awarded the contract to Cynergi for the cleaning at the Brentwood Head office and at 4 regional offices, from Sevenoaks in Kent to Warrington in Cheshire.

We were delighted to be given the opportunity to service the sites of our new client and our first task was to carry out deep cleans to all the sites to bring them up to a manageable level.

We have more news on contract wins but we will let you know as soon as we can. Alternatively, keep an eye on our twitter feed for the latest news.

Cynergi scrubs up it’s Twitter following

At the beginning of the year we had 120 followers on Twitter and in a remarkably short amount of time this is now over 1,200. That’s a fantastic increase which is down to the youngest member of the team, James who has taken control of the site.

Why not follow us on @CynergiCleaning

Cynergi employee of the month

As you are aware the cleaning industry can be very unforgiving and often our best intentions are not recognised and we only receive the bad news phone call or e-mail.

In the midst of all that is going on we often forget to focus on the positive elements of the business and we do not always acknowledge the effort that our teams put into making sure that what our clients see is a professionally run service company.

We have actively been addressing this by recognising people in the company that give 110% effort and look to achieve this in their respective roles.

This past quarter lots of positive feedback has been received from our customers and especially from TWI which has seen lots of internal projects being carried out, this has however not fazed Lino and Jorge who were not sure what they would be facing from night to night but continued to deliver the same high standard of cleaning which was recognised and endorsed by TWI employees.

As a thank you for their continued efforts and as a way of showing the company’s appreciation they were both awarded vouchers to spend on something that suited them.

Living Wage Recognition

Cynergi Cleaning & Support Services has become one of the first Service Provider organisations in Essex to become a Recognised Service Provider to work with the Living Wage.

The Living Wage is an hourly rate set independently and updated annually, based on the cost living in the UK. The Living Wage campaign has been running for ten years and has lifted over 45,000 people out of poverty. An independent study of the business benefits of implementing a Living Wage policy in London found that more than 80% of employers believe that the Living Wage had enhanced the quality of the work of their staff, while absenteeism had fallen by approximately 25%. 66% of employers reported a significant impact on recruitment and retention within their organisation. 70% of employers felt that the Living Wage had increased consumer awareness of their organisation’s commitment to be an ethical employer.

Service Providers are awarded with Living Wage Recognition after demonstrating a commitment to the Living Wage in their core business and in addition to this, raising the importance of the Living Wage with every customer they work with. The Living Wage Foundation accredits UK employers of staff once they can commit to paying all of their workforce including contracted staff, a Living Wage. They also work with Service Providers who supply staff to others, who are now embedding the Living Wage into their solution portfolio offering this as an additional bid, quote or tender to the usual one the customer requests. Recognised Service Providers are highlighting the Living Wage at every possible opportunity as part of best practice.

This will mean that even more organisations can consider experiencing the benefits of Living Wage delivered services. Rhys Moore Director of the Living Wage Foundation said “The benefits the Living Wage brings to staff and business are clear. I welcome the leadership shown by Cynergi on this important issue.” To find out more about becoming an accredited Living Wage Employer, or to work together with the Living Wage Foundation as a Recognised Service Provider, please visit www.livingwage.org.uk.
