True to form our Sales Manager, Richard Lee, likes to be on site for any new cleaning contract startup to ensure the transition runs as smoothly as possible.
This also ensures that he can assist our Contract Managers in any way on all contact mobilisations.
The Challenge
The client is one of the largest air freight cargo carriers in the UK. Cynergi were awarded the contract for a brand new, state of the art facility adjacent to Heathrow Airport. The new site is an amalgamation of individual offices, open working areas, social space, in-house gym and hot desking and the 23,000sqft cargo shed. The high-tech environment and innovation in which the company have invested in has created a bright innovative office space for the dnata staff. As this is a completely new space and the challenge was to work in conjunction with the client to ascertain the best cleaning regime for a multi use space.
The Solution
Firstly, and in conjunction with our equipment supplier, we identified the correct equipment to use in a busy cargo shed which consisted of ride-on scrubber dyers and a selection of floor machines. In addition to the cleaning, we installed paper and soap dispensers to the entire site. Our Senior Contracts Manager introduced a cleaning regime to all site based Cleaning Operatives. He spent a full week on site inducting staff and introducing Cynergi to the staff. We then instigated a cleaning programme for all staff covering all areas of the building. The Cleaning Supervisor and Day Janitor were given clear guidelines of what was expected. We reviewed all the cleaning areas and potential usage and organised these to ensure all the staff had areas of that same size and complexity.
Finally, working in partnership with our client, we fine-tuned the cleaning specification to ensure all areas of concern were covered.

There is a stable and happy team of cleaners and the site is scrupulously clean. Off the back of the service we provided dnata, Cynergi were awarded the contract for 8 other cargo sheds.

The site comprises of a state of the art production area and modern office environment. Cynergi Commercial Cleaners commenced the cleaning contract in May 2007. The scope of works covers the cleaning of the production and office areas and is carried out by a team working a split shift. We have two full time day operatives who work to a staggered shift pattern ensuring that there is an operative on site during core working hours. Cynergi Cleaning & Support Services are pleased to announce that TWI’s Cambridge headquarters has awarded its cleaning contract to Cynergi from January 2016.
TWI is an international research and technology organisation, with a speciality in materials joining and engineering. TWI services include consultancy, technical advice, research and investigation for Industrial Member companies and public funding bodies. It also offers training and examination services in NDT, welding and inspection.
This year saw the end of the build stage for a major government-supported programme to develop TWI’s headquarters to accommodate its growth in business. The £60 million site build in Cambridge has been enabled through UK Regional Growth Funding and with the backing of South Cambridgeshire District Council.
We are extremely proud to gain this prestigious contract and look forward to working with TWI in delivering a successful service and developing our relationship further.
